Supreme Court Ordinance No. 9 of 1911 (Cth)
This document is the signed original of the second major Ordinance made under the Northern Territory (Administration) Act
. It established a separate Supreme Court for the Territory with 'all the jurisdiction and powers' of the Supreme Court and Court of Insolvency in South Australia.
In 1918 the appeal function under this Ordinance passed from South Australian courts, to the High Court of Australia. The Northern Territory Supreme Court continued under Territory Ordinance until its re-establishment under a Commonwealth Act in 1961.
